He said that the procedure was conducted on a 50-year-old man from Chamba who had been experiencing debilitating slip disc symptoms for the past month, severely impacting his mobility. Following a thorough evaluation, surgery was recommended, and he underwent full endoscopic spine disc removal surgery on Monday. Led by Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Neurosurgeon, and supported by the Department of Anaesthesia led by Dr. Bhanu Gupta and Dr. Mahesh, the surgery was a success. The skilled assistance of OT staff nurses Sandeep and Madhu ensured the procedure's smooth execution.
Remarkably, the patient experienced significant improvement immediately after the surgery. He was able to mobilize the same evening and was discharged pain-free after just two days.
Full endoscopic/laser spine surgery represents an evolution in minimally invasive spine procedures, characterized by precise incisions less than 1 cm in size. The procedure involves the insertion of an endoscope for magnified visualization and the use of a radiofrequency probe (commonly known as Laser) to ensure minimal bleeding and enhanced precision.
