Dr. S. K. Mishra appointed 17th Registrar of IKGPTU

Jalandhar/Kapurthala, September 21, 2022: Dr. S. K Mishra has been appointed as the 17th Registrar of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU). Earlier, Dr. Mishra was looking after the additional charge of the post of Registrar in the University. After the appointment made as per the University rules this week, Dr. Mishra has taken over the regular post of Registrar of the University on Wednesday. On the occasion of his appointment and taking over the charge, an event "Aagman" was organized in which all the senior officers of the University welcomed him on his appointment.

It is noteworthy that Dr. H.S. Bains was appointed as the regular registrar in the university in the year 2011 and since the departure of Dr. Bains in the year 2014, 06 different officers had additional charge of this post, in which five were from the University system & one was an IAS officer. Dr. S.K Mishra is on a permanent post as Finance Officer in IKGPTU, while he was also Registrar, National Institute of Technology (NIT Jalandhar) on deputation earlier.

Dr. S.K Mishra was also given the additional responsibility of the post of Registrar of the University in April 2022. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Sh. Rahul Bhandari IAS, who is also the Principal Secretary of the Department of Technical Education, had got the post advertised for the appointment of Registrar as per the set notified rules, under which Dr. Mishra got this opportunity after completing the process. On his joining, Vice Chancellor Sh. Rahul Bhandari congratulated Dr. Mishra for his new responsibility. He joined the ceremony through online mode.

On this occasion, Dr. Mishra said that his goal is to make better arrangements like national level technical educational institutions, to spread academics. He appealed to the university staff, faculty and officials to cooperate for the development of the university and assured everyone that they would work together for the better. Dr. Mishra has studied at IIM Bangalore, Punjab Technical University and Lucknow University. He had earlier served as Registrar at Dr.B.R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jalandhar on deputation from IKGPTU. He has also been selected as Registrar in Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh. Dr. Mishra has over 20 years of experience in the fields of Education Administration, Technical Education, Finance & Accounts, Research, Skill Development, Public Policy and Management.

On this occasion, Dean Academics of the University, Prof. Vikas Chawla, Dean Dr. RPS Bedi, Dr. Ashish Arora, Dr. Gaurav Bhargava, Finance Officer Dr. Sukhbir Singh Walia, Controller Examinations Dr. Paramjit Singh, Director Dr. Amanpreet Singh and others were present.
