Dr. SSBUICET, Panjab University achieves remarkable placement success for 2023-24

Chandigarh, July 25, 2024: Dr. SSBUICET, Panjab University has announced an impressive placement record for the academic year 2023-24, achieving a placement rate of 98.55% for Bachelor's of Chemical Engineering as compared to last year's placement of around 80%. This year, 80 students of B.E. Chemical Engg; participated in the placement process, out of which 69 were eligible for placements. Out of these, 68 students secured offers from prestigious companies across various sectors and one student is unplaced. Four students have opted for higher studies apart from placed students. Some students secured double placements and on average the students could sit in four to five companies for their placement in any case. Three students have also appeared for international placements in Sweden (although already placed in Indian companies) and their result is scheduled to be declared in the first week of August. Hence Dr SSBUICET has the remarkable fate of having its students interviewed for international placements too.

Penultimate year students secured internships in prestigious companies such as Reliance Industries Limited, SRF, TECHNIP, Honeywell, Bechtel, APAC, Jubilant Ingrevia, IOCL, SAIL, GAIL, IFFCO, NFL, Acclime and other PSUs. Many of them were paid internships with Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) too from the 2023-24 batch. The Chemical with MBA 2020-2025 batch got maximum paid internships securing 17 out of 25 eligible students being offered paid internships amounting to nearly 70% of their class undergoing paid internships in 2024. Jubilant Ingrevia is the highest internship taker having selected three students of Chemical and three students of Chemical with MBA for paid internships amounting to Rs 15k and Rs 20k as the internship amount per month for Chemical Engg. and Chemical with MBA respectively followed by Honeywell (30k per month), Reliance Industries Ltd (30k per month), Technip (20k per month), and Bechtel (25k per month) for paid internships.

Honeywell UOP recruited six students on campus and two were given PPOs amounting to a total of eight students, Aarti Industries Ltd. recruited 10 students on campus followed by thirteen students by Nectar Life Sciences Limited, five students each recruited by Reliance Industries Ltd. and IOLCP Barnala and four each by Mcdermott and Technip.

The highest salary package offered to B.E. Chemical Engg is 9.45 LPA by Vedanta, while the average CTC is 6.42 LPA. Among the branches, B.E. FT the highest package offered is 7 LPA by GreyB, and B.E. (Chemical + MBA) the highest package offered is 6.5 LPA by Gujarat Flouro Chemicals Ltd. These UG courses also showcased exceptional performance with 92% placements in B.E. Food Technology and 78% placementsin B.E. Chemical with MBA five-year integrated course on the basis of total eligible students for placement as per corporate and institute criteria.

The placement season witnessed participation from top-tier companies including Honeywell UOP, Aarti Industries, Vedanta, Avaada Energy, Bechtel, Chambal Fertilizers, DCM Shriram Chemicals, ElementRe Technology, GreyB, Hike Education, ChembizR, Wision Research, HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), Jubilent Ingrevia, IOL Chemicals, and Pharmaceutical, McDermott, Nectar Lifesciences, Payal Group, Reliance Industries Limited, Resonance Integrated Solutions,ChemTech Surface Finishing Limited, Verbio, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Technip Energies, VA TECH WABAG, APAC Sourcing solutions, HDFC Life, Acclime India Samsung Display,Advance Autoparts, Cremica, ITC, Gujarat Flouro Chemicals Limited and Panjab Agri export Corporation Limited.
