Ludhiana, December 2, 2018: It is a proud moment for the state of Punjab and the city of Ludhiana that Dr Sunil Katyal, Professor and Head, Department of Anesthesia of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana has been elected as the Vice- President of Indian Society of Anesthesiologists (ISA). ISA is the largest professional body in the field of Anesthesia with over 28,000 members, of which approximately 10,000 members voted in the online voting process. The swearing in ceremony was held during the 66th Annual National ISA-Conference( ISACON-2018) held at Agra.
Dr Katyal has a long and illustrious career spanning almost three decades. He has been Governing Council member of ISA from 2013-2017. He has also been Member, Punjab Medical Council and Chairman of its ethics Committee.
Dr Katyal has earlier also brought accolades for the state of Punjab by organizing the 64th Annual National Conference of ISA at Ludhiana in 2016. This conference was held in Punjab after a gap of more than 60 years.
Dr Katyal when contacted said that his election triumph is an achievement for all the anesthesiologists of the region and he will work towards further encouraging academic activities among anesthesiologists. The whole society and public at large will benefit from such knowledge sharing platforms among the experts in the field of anesthesia by bringing the latest in this exciting field to the door steps of patients of this region.
