Dr. Yogesh Gambhir awarded with 1st National Reading Torch Award
Dr. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal, DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur has been awarded with the esteemed 1st National Reading Torch Award.
Jalandhar, September 11, 2024: The 1st National prestigious ‘Reading Torch Conference and Awards 2024’ ceremony took place at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi recently. This annual event, renowned for honoring contributions to education and literacy, recognized Dr. Yogesh Gambhir, Principal, DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur with the esteemed 1st National Reading Torch Award.
The award was given in acknowledgment of his outstanding commitment to provide quality education and nurturing children's imagination through literature.
Dr. Yogesh Gambhir was acknowledged for his innovative approaches in education that have significantly impacted students' engagement with books and reading. His efforts to inspire and empower young minds have been instrumental in fostering a culture of learning and creativity. Ankit Punni Mathematics Educator received the award on the behalf of Principal.
The ceremony was graced by several notable figures such as Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Education, who delivered the keynote address. Kumar spoke on the importance of educational innovation and the role of literature in developing critical thinking skills among students.

The event also featured a captivating performance by the team who presented on the theme “What Planet Are You On?” which was a special play for Educators. This engaging performance was a collaborative effort involving Avantika Ganguly, Kashin Shetty, Lisha Bajaj, Sarthak Kakkar, Siddharth Kumar and Zayn Marie Khan. Their performance was designed to encourage students to explore new horizons and engage with their surroundings in innovative ways.
