Draft electoral rolls for municipal corporation ready, objections could be filed by October 31- DC

Ludhiana, October 23, 2023: Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Ludhiana Surabhi Malik today said that draft electoral rolls for the ensuing elections for Municipal Corporation Ludhiana were ready and people could file their objections, if any, till October 31, 2023.
 
Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that in consonance with the commitment of the district administration for conducting the upcoming polls in a free and fair manner, the draft publication of electoral rolls has been completed. Since the draft publication of voter lists was done already done, now voters can file their claims and objects by October 31, this, she said adding the disposal of claims and objections would be ensured by November 8 and final publication would be done on November 10, 2023.
 
The DC further said that people could file their objections and claims regarding the list with the concerned Electoral Registration Officers within stipulated time-frame i.e. October 31, 2023. Sharing list of EROs for the municipal corporation area, she said that AETC-1 would be ERO for ward numbers 2 to 7, and 11 to 15, SDM Ludhiana East would be ERO for ward numbers 16 to 26. Likewise, SDM Payal to be ERO for wards 27, 31 to 39, and 43, Secretary RTA for wards 40 to 42, 44 to 51, SDM Jagraon for wards 30, 52, 74 to 80, and 82, EO GLADA for wards 01, 86 to 95, SDM Raikot for wards 8 to 10, 28, 29, 81, 83-85, SDM Ludhiana West for wards 63 to 73, and SDM Khanna would be ERO for wards 53 to 62 of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.
 
She directed all the officers/ officials to perform their duty diligently to ensure free, fair and transparent elections for Municipal Corporation Ludhiana. Malik said that the entire work of preparation of electoral rolls has to be completed in a time-bound manner adding that any sort of laxity in this work was undesirable and unwarranted.
 
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner further said that the district administration was duty-bound to hold these elections in a free, fair and transparent manner. She said that a foolproof mechanism would be put in place to make these elections for the MCL a smooth and hassle free affair.

Notably, AETC will receive these claim and objections at this office situated at Assistant Commissioner State tax Ludhiana 1, New Building GST Bhawan, 1"" Floor, Mini Secretariat Ludhiana, SDM EAST at his office at SDM (East) office, Mini Secretariat Ludhiana, SDM Payal at District Industry Center, Near SBI Bank, Industrial Estate, Millar Ganj, Ludhiana, Secretary RTA at Room No 1, Pancahyat Bhawan, Zilla Parishad Complex Ludhiana, SDM Jagraon at the premises of Deputy Director Horticulture (Near Verka Milk Plant) Ludhiana, EO GLADA at the premises of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) Room No 108, (GF) Near Rajguru Nagar, Ferozpur Road Ludhiana, SDM Raikot at Room No 04, Office Market Committee, Grain Mandi, Salem Tabri, Ludhiana, SDM Ludhiana West in his office at SDM (west) office, Mini secretariat Ludhiana, and SDM Khanna will receive claims and objections at BDPO Office Ludhiana -1, PAU Ludhiana.
