DRI program graduates 97 women in marketable skills
CSR initiative focused on beautician and tailoring
New Delhi: Recognizing the wisdom of the civil society aphorism, Ms Anandita Pahwa, Head-CSR Initiatives for the Pahwa Group, instituted the DRI Udaan Skill Development Center that trains underprivileged women in beautician and tailoring skills along with various other courses for the youth. DRI Udaan skill development center for beautician and tailoring CSR program is a partnership with Humana People to People India (HPPI), a non-governmental organization (NGO) that helps underprivileged people develop skills for a livelihood.
The 14th Batch of DRI Udaan Skill Development Center for Beautician and Tailoring graduated on 21st January, 2020 and a certificate distribution program was organized at Humana People to People India, Chakkarpur Center, Gurugram. 97 women from Bhawani Enclave and Chakkarpur Centers in Gurugram were awarded certificates. These women studied various skills such as Basic Tailoring Course, Basic Beautician Course and Advance Beautician Course.
Ms Anandita Pahwa gave away the prizes, medals and certificates to the position holders of each batch. Participants also shared their experience of learning and about their future aspirations. Ms Pahwa, while interacting with the participants, encouraged the students and wished them well in their future endeavors.
Beautician and Tailoring kits were given to the students who won prizes, to help them get started in terms of employment. Ms. Rupica Saxena Bisht, National Partnership Manager, Mr Lokesh Kumar Saini, Mr Raj Kumar, and teachers from HPPI were present on the occasion.
The DRI program provides three-month skill focused courses for women at Bhawani Enclave and Chakkarpur Centres, in Gurugram, Haryana.
