MORE THAN 60 ILLEGAL DHABAS AND STALLS REMOVED, DRIVE TO REMAIN CONTINUE- ZONAL COMMISSIONER
Ludhiana: On the keen interest and special efforts of MLA Mr.Surinder Dabar, a drive against illegal encroachments started in Transport Nagar on Friday. Local Transport Nagar Association and encroachers gave their support to the drive.
Zonal MC Commissioner Dr.Poonampreet Kaur said that several meetings were held with the representatives of association before initiating the drive and leaders cutting across party lines helped in starting this drive. MLA Mr.Surinder Dabar and all parties took the stock of drive.
She said that on Friday, after getting green signal from Municipal Commissioner Mr.Jaskiran Singh, more than 60 illegal Dhabas and Stalls were removed from government lands and this drive would remain to continue in the coming days too. She said that cleanliness drive of drains is already going on and repair of street lights is also being carried out.
Chief Sanitary Inspector, Horticulture department, PWD and officials from other departments also visited the spot and supervised the drive.
