Drug-Free Punjab Cycle Rally reached Jalandhar
Jalandhar, November 28, 2024: Under the instructions of Commanding Officer, National Cadet Corps, Colonel TYS Bedi, a drug free Punjab cycle rally is being organized to spread awareness against drug addiction. In its continuous journey, Cadets along with Chief Officer Ranjit Singh and Girls Cadet Instructor Muskan reached the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion headquarters today. Commanding officer Colonel Vinod Joshi welcomed them warmly. Describing the cadets as a source of inspiration for the youngsters, Colonel Joshi learned about the experiences of their Punjab travelogue. He said that it is a matter of great pleasure that the cadets of NCC have also become part of the drug de -addiction campaign of the Punjab government. The message given by the cadets will go across Punjab and it will become a part of history.
Talking about this drug -free Punjab cycle rally, Chief Officer Ranjit Singh said that on November 25, the cadets were flagged off by Group Commander Brigadier Rahul Kumar Gupta from NCC Academy Ropar. The main objective of this rally is to motivate the youth to stay away from drugs, keep the environment clean and participate in adventurous activities. Girls Cadet Instructor Muskan said that 7 girls cadets are also part of the rally. This cycle rally started from Ropar has reached Jalandhar today via Patiala, Sangrur and Ludhiana. Stopping here for two days, they will go to Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. 5 soldiers of the Indian Army are also part of the rally. Subedar RD Singh and Havildar Jaswinder Singh said that the army has made complete arrangements for the safety of the cadets. Later, all the cadets and associate staff reached Lyallpur Khalsa College, where Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh welcomed them. Appreciating their commitment and courage for a noble cause, Dr. Singh praised them. He said that for a comfortable stay of the cadets college has made all arrangements.
