Drug peddlers’ days are over, declares Capt Sandeep Sandhu
Dakha, October 19, 2019: Issuing a clear and categorical warning to the Akali candidate Manpreet Singh Ayali and his mentor and Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia against provoking Congress workers, Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu today said that the days of the drug peddlers, smugglers and those who committed the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib are over. Responding to the repeated threats of violence by Majithia and Ayali, the Congress candidate while addressing a press conference here today, remarked, “I wonder in which world they are living in and they must realize that it is the Congress government in the state which neither indulges in any unlawful activities nor allows anyone to do so”. He warned that any attempts of violence will be dealt with same measure strictly according to the law. He said, the frustrated duo of Majithia and Ayali had jumped the gun by preponing their defeat and admitting it days before the actual day of voting. “Let you wait for the verdict of the voters of Dakha and only then react, why show your frustration so much in advance or are you so confident about your defeat”, he chided the Akali leaders for resorting to breast-beating when nothing has happened. “Let me tell you today that the days of the smugglers, the drug peddlers and their protectors and those who committed the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib are over and their countdown has started”, he said, while adding, “they are not afraid of defeat, they are afraid of what will happen to them once the law starts taking its own course”. Capt Sandhu said, both Ayali and Majithia had failed to produce single evidence or example where a false case had been registered against anyone. “They are just trying to create an alibi for the defeat that is staring them on face”, he remarked. On the occasion a Bibi Sukhdev Kaur, a close relative of Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and sports promoter Jagroop Singh Jarkhar joined the Congress party and announced their support for Capt Sandhu. Two independent candidate Gurjeet Singh and Dev Sarabha also announced to withdraw their candidature in support of Capt Sandhu.
