Dry day in Ludhiana district from May 30 (6 pm) to June 1 (till end of polling) and June 4 (whole day) 

In view of ensuing polling day on June 1, District Magistrate-cum-District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney has declared dry day in the whole district from 6 pm on May 30 to June 1 till conclusion of the voting.

Ludhiana, May 28, 2024: In view of ensuing polling day on June 1, District Magistrate-cum-District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney has declared dry day in the whole district from 6 pm on May 30 to June 1 till conclusion of the voting.

Likewise, Sawhney also mentioned that dry day has also been declared in district of June 4, the day on which counting of votes will take place. 

The District Magistrate-cum-District Election Officer said that on these days, all liquors vend including country liquor and foreign liquor will remain close. No hotel, restaurant, club and others will be allowed to serve/store/sell liquor in their premises. Further, the liquor shops, hotels, restaurants, clubs run by anyone, even if they are issued different category of licences for possession and supply of liquor, will not also permitted to serve the liquor during the above mentioned period from 6 pm on May 30 to June 1 till conclusion of the voting and also on June 4 (counting day). 

Sawhney stated that these orders have been issued to maintain law and order for the smooth conduct of the general elections.
