DSCE -36 celebrates NSS Day
Dev Samaj College of Education (DSCE), Sec 36, Chandigarh, celebrated 'NSS Day’ and the Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS Chandigarh Administration. The main objective of the celebration was to spread awareness among the participants about the role and significance of NSS in the welfare of society. NSS aims to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.
Chandigarh, Sep 26, 2024: Dev Samaj College of Education (DSCE), Sec 36, Chandigarh, celebrated 'NSS Day’ and the Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS Chandigarh Administration. The main objective of the celebration was to spread awareness among the participants about the role and significance of NSS in the welfare of society. NSS aims to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.
Dr. Nemi Chand highlighted the importance of discipline and education in the empowerment of a person. He further elaborated that hard work is stronger than destiny. Prof. Agnese Dhillon, Secretary, Dev Samaj appreciated the NSS Programme Officers for organizing the event in a thoughtful manner and motivated the students for more enthusiastic participation in future activities.
Prof. Richa Sharma, Officiating Principal of the college, welcomed the students of new batch of 2024-26 who were formally inducted to the college by Charanjeet Kaur in a special ceremony ‘Deeksharambh’ as per the U.G.C. guidelines.
The students were oriented about guidelines and achievements of the college. New students also administered the professional oath of teachers dedicated to the vision and mission of Dev Samaj. The programme included a few cultural performances as well.
