Earth Day celebrations take place at Apeejay School, Jalandhar on Wednesday.

Jalandhar, April 2, 2015: Apeejay School, Rama Mandi celebrated Earth Day to sensitize students about the importance of nurturing our mother Earth for a better tomorrow.

The celebrations commenced with the morning assembly where students presented thought and talk on the occasion. A power point presentation on the occasion was also presented. Students of classes III to XII were, thereafter, given a pledge form – “To save my mother Earth, I pledge to………” - in which they expressed their views on saving Earth from further deterioration. Many competition like Slogan writing, Collage making and Placard making were also held for the students of classes I – XII.

The celebrations proceeded further with principal Madhu Sharma and Teresa Cooper ( a teacher from Home Farm Primary School, Colchester, Esex, U.K.) planting a sapling in the school premises to motivate students to plant more and more trees for a cleaner and greener environment.

Principal Madam in her speech advised students to plant a sapling every year on their birthdays. She also asked students to start comparing Mother Earth with their own mothers to understand the pain a mother feels when she is in the process of deterioration.

She advised students to respect the mother Earth so that we can have a bright and prosperous future.
