Chandigarh, February 7, 2015: The second day of the Entrepreneurship Summit Udyami conducted by EDC-UIET began at 9:30 AM with the talk session by a Woman Entrepreneur Monika Sood, Founder of Monika’s, Chandigarh who spoke on the topic ‘Women Entrepreneurship’.

Monika Sood inspired the audience through her success recipe of how she succeeded in creating an identity for herself. In the webinar session that followed, Founder of Zostel, Akhil Malik shared his journey along with his six other IIT, IIM friends in revolutionalising the way India travels.

The summit also had an interactive Panel Discussion session on ‘Innovation in Health Care’ which was moderated by Dr. Manjushri. Head of CCICU, PGIMER, Dr. G. D. Puri; Founder of Annovas Clinical Research, Dr. Dharinder Tayal; IIT Delhi Dr. Naveen Kumar and Founder of Tynor Orthotics, Pushwinder Jit Singh spoke on how the collaborative efforts of engineering and medical fields can boost up the country’s development quotient and serve to be a growing industry in the coming times.

Four competitions were held which included extemplan, creatour, run a park and wisemiser. Run a park was held in UBS hall, it was a competition in which participants had to run a park for one year managing the cost of raw material and generate maximum revenue out of it.

Another competition called creatour was organised in which participants had to plan a trip of particular no. of people in a fixed budget. Competition called extemplan was held in UBS hall in participants had to submit their b-plan to the experienced and qualified professionals and entrepreneurs.

An event called wisemiser was held were participants were given a choice of different products and they had to invest in any one product wisely. A workshop of stock exchange was held by Kunal Nandwani founder of U-Trade solutions.

A second panel discussion for the day, on ‘A Tool Kit for Successful Start-ups’ followed which was moderated by GM SML-ISUZU Ltd.Sanjiv Gupta. The speakers for this session, Padmashree, founder of Punjab Tractors Ltd.Chandra Mohan, Ex-Director, SML-ISUZU Ltd. R. P. Sehgal and Founder, IAG Automation Deepak Bist had a very informative and interactive session with the audience.

A talk on ‘Product vs. Team’ was conducted by Sameer Guglani, founder of Morpheus and Tushar, founder of Click Labs. Also, there were three competitions conducted on the second day, Extemplan, Wisemiser and Creatour. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
