Edtech brand commemorates World Braille Day
The event took place across Bangalore where BYJU’S volunteers were engaged in spreading awareness about disabilities and sensitising people about the need for greater Braille inclusion in society.
Bangalore, January 4, 2023: On the occasion of World Braille Day, the world's largest edtech company BYJU'S organised events across the city to celebrate the braille literacy movement and to raise awareness around the importance of learning braille.
The celebration was kicked off by a special event followed by workshops on braille aimed at bringing together a group of volunteers to learn the basics of this language. The event was attended by several people from various age groups, who came together to take a pledge for braille literacy and make an impact on the lives of millions who are visually impaired.
Speaking at the event, Ravi Chandra Gudimetla , Associate Artist , said, "Learning to read and write in braille will help visually impaired people lead a normal life, with greater independence. As an organisation that believes in making a positive impact on society through education, I am happy to have been a part of this event"
