Education Minister Condoles Demise Of Students Killed In Hoshiarpur Road Mishap

Chandigarh, April 7, 2017: The Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs.Aruna Chaudhary has deeply condoled the tragic demise of 3 students of a private school and a driver in a road mishap in Hoshiarpur. The Minister has sought complete report regarding the matter from District Education Officer (D.E.O.) Hoshiarpur.
In a statement issued here today, Mrs. Chaudhary said that she is deeply saddened with the news. While condoling the sad demise of the students, the Minister assured their parents that the Punjab Government stands firmly with them in this hour of extreme grief. She also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured students.
The Minister further elaborated that the Health Minister Mr. Brahm Mohindra has decided to provide free treatment to those injured in the mishap. She also divulged that instructions have been given concerning providing every possible help to the victim families at the administrative level. Disclosing more, she said that she would also direct all the D.E.O.s to issue instructions to the school managements of the institutions in their respective districts to ensure the safe plying of buses carrying school children and abide by the traffic rules besides controlling speed.
It is worth mentioning that in a serious mishap today morning near village Singhpur in Hoshiarpur District, a bus of Cambridge International Public School, Dasuya collided with a Mahindra Bolero canter which resulted in the death of 3 students namely- Surbhi, Anirudh and Tanish while 13 were injured. Out of the 13 injured, 4 have been referred to the shivam hospital, Hoshiarpur and 9 have been admitted at the Civil Hospital.
