Education minister Vijay Inder Singla felicitates students with Apple iPad, Laptop and Android Tablet
The felicitated students hail from Ludhiana, Moga, Ferozepur and Fazilka
Ludhiana: School Education Minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla today felicitated winners of ‘Ambassadors of Hope’ belonging to Ludhiana, Moga, Ferozepur and Fazilka districts with Apple iPad, Laptop and Android Tablet during a brief ceremony organised at Sutton House, Punjab Agricultural University, here. The cabinet minister specially visited Ludhiana to give away the prizes to the winners of record breaking online competition, ‘Ambassadors of Hope’, in which 1.05 lakh entries were received during lockdown. Apart from congratulating the winners, Mr. Singla assured them every possible help in achieving their future goals.
The winners from district Ludhiana are East Modi of class ninth from BCM Arya International Senior Secondary School, Jashanpreet Singh of class 12th from Government Senior Secondary School, village Chhapar and Mehtab Singh Sekhon of class 8th from Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi. The winners of Moga district include Adeshpreet Kaur of class 10th from Sacred Heart School, Eva Sood of class 4th from St. Josephs Convent School and Jaspreet Kaur of class 7th from Government Senior Secondary School.
Similarly, the winners from Ferozepur include Mehakdeep Kaur and Sandeep Singh (joint first winners) of class 10th from Government Senior Secondary School, Mana Singh Wala, Parmeet Kaur of class 10th from SSM Senior Secondary Public School and Ishmeet Kaur of class 8th from DC Model Senior Secondary School. The winners of Fazilka district include Arman Gumber of class 9th from Delhi Public World School Jalalabad, Sheenam from class 12th from Government Girls Senior Secondary School Abohar and Bhumika Kamboj of class 10th from Maya Devi Memorial Adarsh School, Kera Khera.
The winners overwhelmingly thanked Mr. Vijay Inder Singla for organizing such an interesting and wonderful competition during lockdown.
While giving away the prizes, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that besides breaking the world record in eight days, the ‘Ambassadors of Hope’ competition has successfully served its purpose by nurturing skills of students in a positive manner.
Divulging further details, Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that as many as 1,05,898 school going students have shared their videos in eight days for 'Ambassadors of Hope', the campaign which was launched for students of Punjab to share their creativity during lockdown. He categorically said, “Winners have been selected strictly on merit basis.”
The Cabinet Minister said that apart from a total 66 main prizes, as many as 1000 consolation prizes were also being given to the winners in all 22 districts under the ‘Ambassadors of Hope’.
