Educational trip to Virasat-E-Khalsa Museum
Jalandhar, December 8, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya organized an Educational Trip to Virasat-E-Khalsa museum located at Anandpur Sahib. The trip was organized for the students of Department of History, KMV Collegiate Senior Secondary School. During the trip, the students visited eleven galleries and peeped into the past and witnessed the rich heritage of Sikh history. The students also witnessed various facets of Sikh history from 15th century till present era. The students saw how well the handicrafts, embroidery pattern and galleries reflected the entire theme of history. The students were also informed that ten million people have visited the museum since its inception & visitor number for the museum have broken record as the museum has been recognized as the most visited museum in the Indian Subcontinent. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such educational trips enrich the students with the rich culture, heritage of the past and also helps them to gain right and authentic information through pictorial and visual forums. She further maintained that visit to such historical places can help the students of Social Sciences to understand the history in a better way. KMV from time to time organizes various educational trips for the students so that the students can receive proper exposure. Principal also lauded Dr. Gurjot, Head, Department of History & the faculty members for organizing this type of educational trips for the students.
