Eight packets of heroin recovered by BSF
Ferozepur, September 11, 2019: 136 Battalion of BSF today made another seizure and recovered eight packets of heroin worth Rs.40 crores in the international market near border out post Shameke in this sector. As per information available, the consignment was pushed through water channel gap with the help of water Hyacinth in two attempts. Earlier, on September 9 also five packets of heroin were recovered near BOP Shamemke through same route. On September 7, the sleuths belonging to 136 Battalion had recovered 3 kg heroin which was stashed inside a rubber tube. Interestingly, in all three incidents, water hyacinth was used to conceal the consignment which was sent through water channel. It is pertinent to mention here that overall 129.515 Kg heroin has been recovered this year by the BSF on Punjab border.
