Dhramsala, December 12, 2012: Many educational institutions of Himachal Pradesh were found defaulter in paying the electricity bills.
This was indicated in a letter dated December 11 this year, which was written to the Deputy Directors of different district by the Director, Higher Education. Around Rs 9.32 lacks are due, as indicated by the HPSEB letter (No. 16735-42 dated 28/09/12) sent to Director Education Himachal for the clearance of the bills. Director in response advised the concerned officers for early clearance of the pending bills of the institutions. He has also instructed the concerned officers that in future payment of water, electricity and telephone bills may be made on priority.
The pending energy bills as on 31st May, 2012 are Rs 6.01 lakh of Sirmour district followed by Rs. 2.20 lakh of Kinour district, Rs.0.72 lakh of Shimla and Rs.0.43 lakh of Kullu districts.
