1] When offered the role of Mata Sita, what was your initial reaction?
- After numerous auditions and mock shoots for the role of Mata Sita, the moment I learned I got the part, I had tears in my eyes; it all seemed quite surreal.
2] You have a very elaborate look when it comes to hair/ makeup and costume. Tell us more about embracing this role.
- In the process of finalizing the look for Hair, Makeup, and Costume, we underwent numerous look tests, spending 10-12 hours on each look. After about 8-10 tests, we eventually settled on the current look. The Lehenga that you see me wearing in the Vivaah weighs around 15kg, and if we add in jewelry, then it is around 20kg. The outfit is made up of velvet fabric with warm color pallets - Wine, Maroon, Red, and Mustard that add a mood to the festive season. There’s a head trail of 15 Meters fabric with intricate work of stars on it. It has been an exciting journey, but the positive reception and my acceptance as Sita make it all worthwhile, and I'm grateful for the support and appreciation from the audience.
3] Ram – Sita Vivaah is an epic moment, how has your experience been shooting with your co-actor, Sujay Reu?
- When I'm on set, embodying the character of Sita feels natural. Working with Sujay has been a delightful experience; he's kind, humble, and cooperative. There's a strong understanding between us regarding our performances. We respect each other's space, that enables us to fully immerse ourselves in our respective characters without much disturbance. This mutual maturity enhances our collaborative efforts on screen.
4] Has portraying the character of Mata Sita brought about any changes in your life similar to the transformative experiences often associated with taking on such a role?
- Playing the character of Sita has brought significant changes to my life. I used to be a bit impatient, but now I find myself mentally more stable. Retrospection and deep thinking have made me calmer, and overall, I feel content. These subtle changes in my life and behavior have made a positive impact on my life.
