Ludhiana: Urging the Ludhianavis to take the vaccine as it is the only way forward, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday said that the administration is holding 150 inoculation camps in the entire district on Thursday and people must support wholeheartedly so that the stock of 36000 doses for 18 + age group can be utilized which would help Ludhiana to cross the milestone of 1 million jabs to residents.

Interacting with the people in his weekly Facebook live session on the official page of DPRO Ludhiana, Sharma said that even on Wednesday, when the district had 30000 doses for 18 + but only 16000 turned up which was not satisfactory. He said that if tomorrow all 36000 doses get utilized in 150 camps, Ludhiana would reach the 1 million mark so people must support the administration.

He said that the vaccine would help to come out of this dark tunnel at the earliest so the people must understand its importance for preventing the third wave of Covid-19.

Deputy Commissioner also disclosed the new guidelines in view of restrictions eased and said that shops can remain open till 7.30 pm from Monday to Saturday and curfew on Sunday will remain in force. 

He said that home delivery of prepared food items can be done till 9 pm on all days of the week.

He emphasized that the people must continue to obey the Covid appropriate behaviour in their daily routine.
