Emergency services will remain unaffected during pen down strike: Dr Bhatnagar
Doctors in Himachal have started their statewide protest with a two-hour pen-down strike in all the hospitals
Dharamsala, February 11, 2022: On the call of Himachal Pradesh Doctor Joint Sangharsh Samiti (action committee), all the faculty members doctors, senior residents doctors and trainee doctors of Dr RP Tanda Medical College, observed a 2-hour pen down strike on the second day today in a row.
President of Tanda Medical College Teachers Association Dr. Mukul Bhatnagar said that the pen down strike will be organized daily from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the two hour pen down strike which started from February 10 will continue till February 17 as a first phase of the protest. If the government does not accept their demands, then doctors in the state will go on casual leave.
Dr. Mukul Bhatnagar said that in the interest of patients, the emergency services, services related to Covid-19 and maternity related services shall remain unaffected even during the protest.
Doctors in Himachal have started their statewide protest with a two-hour pen-down strike in all the hospitals. They have been demanding that the non-practicing allowance (NPA) be paid to them at 25 percent of their basic pay plus NPA be capped at Rs.2,37,600 as per the Punjab pay pattern, to restore 4-9-14 time scale for promotions and to increase special medical allowance from Rs.7000 to 20000.
