Empowering Changera Village: Enactus Panjab University hosts financial literacy and healthcare workshop
Enactus team of Panjab University took a significant step towards community empowerment with a transformative Financial Literacy and Healthcare Workshop in collaboration with Ashish Mittal Foundation (AMF), Changera, Banur, Punjab. AMF is not-for-profit organisation with a vision to make the socio-economically weaker sections financially independent through skilling programs, which is in line with the vision of Enactus to create a better, more sustainable world, conveyed Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty advisor of Enactus team.
Chandigarh, February 4, 2024: Enactus team of Panjab University took a significant step towards community empowerment with a transformative Financial Literacy and Healthcare Workshop in collaboration with Ashish Mittal Foundation (AMF), Changera, Banur, Punjab. AMF is not-for-profit organisation with a vision to make the socio-economically weaker sections financially independent through skilling programs, which is in line with the vision of Enactus to create a better, more sustainable world, conveyed Prof. Seema Kapoor, Faculty advisor of Enactus team.
The event was graced by the esteemed guest speaker Prof. Monika Agarwal, Director of University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University and Pastor Prachi Mittal, Secretary, Ashish Mittal Foundation. The workshop served as a platform to raise awareness about various government policies for investment and smart money management. Prof. Agarwal shared valuable insights, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed financial decisions and navigate the complexities of investment, Aditi Prakash, Vice President of Enactus team.
In addition to financial literacy, the workshop addressed the critical issue of menstrual hygiene. Aarzoo Dhiman, Vice President and Mahi, Project Director of Enactus team explained the ladies about the benefits of using cloth based sanitary napkins as an alternative to plastic based sanitary napkins including the reusability, comfortability and cost effectiveness of these napkins. The ladies were explained how to use and maintain these napkins for a long period of time.180 free sanitary napkins were distributed to women and ladies in the community, sponsored by Prof. Seema Kapoor.
Aman Sagar, Director Operations of Enactus said that this workshop aimed to promote awareness and empower women to make informed and sustainable choices for menstrual hygiene. Jaidev Singh Naroo, Creative Head of Enactus team said the team is proud to contribute to the well-being of the Changera community through initiatives that educate and uplift.
Combining financial literacy with healthcare awareness ensured a holistic approach to community development averred Shubham Dhiman, President, Enactus team. He said that the workshop marks a milestone in Enactus, Panjab University's mission to drive positive change through education and empowerment.
Pastor Prachi Mittal appreciated the Enactus team in taking such initiatives and breaking the social taboos. She said that the Enactus team-based learning approach is helping them acquire skills needed to succeed in any sector throughout their lives and will able them to take initiatives that positively impact people, planet and prosperity.
