Jalandhar, September 23, 2024: The English Literary Society of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar organised a Paper Reading Competition on the theme ‘Shakespeare’s Contribution to Literature’. 

The activity garnered enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines, each presenting insightful and scholarly perspectives on the Bard’s profound influence on English literature. They explored diverse aspects of Shakespeare’s works, including his unsurpassable mastery of language, innovative use of dramatic structures, and the timeless themes that continue to resonate with readers today. The competition provided a platform for students to showcase their analytical skills and eloquence in discussing the enduring relevance of Shakespeare in contemporary times.

Kalpana of BSc Computer Science Semester III got first prize for her outstanding paper. Mudita of BA Semester III bagged second prize and Anshita of BA Semester III and Harmanpreet Kaur of BA. B.Ed Semester III got third prize.

President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar lauded the participants for their in-depth understanding and also appreciated the Head, Department of English, Aabroo Sharma as well as the entire department for successful culmination of the activity.
