Dharamshala, April 20, 2024: In anticipation of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa has committed to improving facilities for both players and spectators at the HPCA Cricket Stadium in Dharamshala.
The IPL matches, scheduled for May 5 and May 9, will feature matches between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings versus Royal Challengers Bangalore, respectively.
Following a detailed meeting with officials from the district administration and the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), Deputy Commissioner Bairwa reviewed preparations across multiple domains, including law enforcement, traffic management, parking, healthcare services, electricity, water supply, road repairs, urban cleanliness, and fire safety. He has issued directives to ensure that all preparations are completed promptly and efficiently.
The Deputy Commissioner has specifically instructed the police department to enforce stringent security measures to maintain law and order during the events. Additionally, he has urged the Public Works Department to expedite road repair works in the vicinity of the stadium to facilitate smooth traffic flow and enhance accessibility.
These initiatives aim to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees, ensuring that Dharamshala is ready to host the high-profile cricket matches in a safe and organized manner.
