This event was part of a series of lectures delivered by Prof. Mohanty, who currently holds the prestigious Sri Aurobindo Chair at Panjab University and is former Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Odhisa, and Head of the Department of English, University of Hyderabad.
The lecture attracted a diverse audience (around 100 participants), including faculty members and students from various departments. Dr. Pankaj Srivastava, Chairperson of the Department of Philosophy, highlighted the speaker’s credentials, emphasizing their expertise in the subject matter and significant contributions to scholarship in the field.Prof. Mohanty delivered a captivating lecture that explored the philosophical foundations of Sri Aurobindo’s teachings. The discussion also delved into the intricate connections between Sri Aurobindo’s ideas and the narrative of the Mahabharata.Following the lecture, faculty members, research scholars, and students actively participated in a stimulating question-and-answer session. As a poignant conclusion, Prof. Mohanty initiated a 30-second moment of silence.
