ENQUIRY: Probe in financial affair of Infotech sought

Chandigarh, January 2, 2013: The Punjab Industry and Commerce Minister Anil Joshi have requested Punjab Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa to ask Examiner Local Funds Account to conduct a thorough enquiry into the financial affairs of Punjab InfoTech at the earliest and submit the report to the department.

The Minister has ordered this enquiry taking a serious note of depleting of huge fixed deposits of Corporation besides discrepancies in allotment of industrial plots and their cancellation by the InfoTech. The Minister has also taken a serious view of allotment of consultancy for Rajpura and Rail majra IT Parks.

The Industry Minister has requested Finance Minister to get the enquiry expedited so that administrative action could be initiated against the wrong doers on the basis of the enquiry. He said that brining Punjab InfoTech and other boards and corporations under Examiner Local Fund Accounts was imperative to bring total transparency in the working of such boards and corporations.
