Ludhiana, September 24, 2023: Dr Arun Mitra, President Indian Doctors for Peace and Development (IDPD) in a statement has demanded that in view of the increasing cases of Dengue fever the Municipal Corporation should ensure fogging of Mosquitocidal agents in every house.
He added normally the practice is to do fogging in the streets only. With this the effect of the fogging is not felt in deep areas of the houses. The poor colonies generally get ignored even though they need to be given priority as they lack basic facilities to prevent mosquito bites.
Adding, he said citizens too need to take precautions in the form of wearing full sleeve shirts, cover their legs and feet, use mosquito repellents in the houses and use mosquito nets where needed. Citizens should ensure that there is no water logging around their house or uncovered water kept in the house particularly at the rooftop.
Further, he said it has generally been observed that the dengue spreads in large scale from September to end of November. In case of high grade fever and body aches people should consult the doctor.
