Ensure potable water supply to residents and take steps in advance to avoid water logging during rainy season - MLA Ludhiana South Rajinder Pal Kaur Chinna
With an aim to ensure potable water supply to residents and to avoid waterlogging during rainy season, Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina conducted a meeting with Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi at MC Zone D office on Thursday.
Ludhiana, June 20, 2024: With an aim to ensure potable water supply to residents and to avoid waterlogging during rainy season, Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina conducted a meeting with Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Sandeep Rishi at MC Zone D office on Thursday.
During the meeting, MLA South Chhina also stressed upon proper cleaning of the sewer system and improving road infrastructure in the constituency.
MLA Chhina also directed the officials of operations and maintenance (O&M) cell of MC to move to the field and ensure that the residents should not face trouble due to water scarcity.
MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi stated that the civic body has already approved the projects to install tubewells in the respective areas and those will be installed as soon as possible.
New tubewells would be installed in Prem Nagar (ward number 29); Pritam Colony and Dhandari Kalan of ward number 30 and Harkrishan Nagar, Sundar Nagar and Guru Nanak Nagar among other areas of the constituency.
The legislator directed the officials to take steps in advance to avoid water logging during the rainy season. Road gullies should be cleaned especially in the area around Giaspura park and other low lying areas of the constituency.
MLA Chhina also directed the officials to act against illegal construction of colonies and labour quarters in different areas of the constituency as this puts additional burden on MC infrastructure.
MLA Chhina directed the officials to expedite the development works and they were also asked to act against the contractors who are delaying the works or have failed to ensure good quality works.
MLA Chhina said that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is committed for overall development of the state and no stone is being left unturned to facilitate the residents at ground level.
