A minor travelling on scooter driven by his father had fallen to death from elevated road from Chand Cinema to Jagraon Bridge near MTS College on Friday after being hit by a car from rear side. In reply, the Commissioner directed the officials to adopt all possible effective measures, to check recurrence of accidents on the particular spot. The Commissioner assured that the preventive steps would be taken within a week, said Mehta.

Parminder Mehta and Congress councillor Sushma Mehta told that they had taken up this matter several times earlier too with the Commissioner in written and verbally. They had sought that steel sheets should be put up along the elevated road at the particular point to check accidents. But, nobody paid heed to their demand. Had the Corporation authorities acted timely on their suggestions the yesterday’s incident would not have happened, they believed.
