EOC- PwDs Office PU celebrated International White Cane Day
The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) - Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) Office, Panjab University, celebrated International White Cane Day, with a series of impactful events to promote awareness about the independence and mobility of visually impaired individuals.
Chandigarh, October 18, 2024: The Equal Opportunity Cell (EOC) - Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) Office, Panjab University, celebrated International White Cane Day, with a series of impactful events to promote awareness about the independence and mobility of visually impaired individuals.
The program began with a March past by visually impaired students, supported by dedicated volunteers, symbolizing their resilience and determination to navigate life independently.
Following the march, a Cultural program showcased the talents of visually impaired students through performances that captivated the audience, highlighting their skills and creativity.
The event concluded with the Certificate of Appreciation distribution ceremony led by the PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma acknowledging the dedicated efforts of Scribes from the Scribe Society (SATH) who supported visually impaired students during examinations. Volunteers who assisted in organizing the event and participated in the march past were also honoured for their contributions.
The celebration underscored Panjab University’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and supporting the empowerment of persons with disabilities.
