Essay writing competition conducted by Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of Lyallpur Khalsa College
Creative writing plays a big role in honing the talents of the students: Principal Dr. Samara
Jalandhar, November 25, 2021: Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is constantly striving for the holistic development of the students. Therefore, ample opportunities are provided in the fields of sports, culture, research and literature. Under this series, essay writing competition was conducted by the Punjabi Sahitya Sabha of the Post Graduate Punjabi Department of the College in which 70 students from different classes participated. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra wished the students all the best for participating in the essay writing competition. He said that creative writing plays a vital role in honing the talents of the students. It boosts a person's self-confidence and enables him to take on greater responsibilities in the community. Dr. Gopal Singh Butter, Head, Department of Punjabi and Prof. Kuldip Sodhi, Coordinator, Punjabi Sahitya Sabha, said that Punjabi Sahitya Sabha conducts competitions every year for creative writing, poetry recitation and book reading, as a result of which students get help in daily life in office, newspaper and literary works. He said that the Punjabi Sahitya Sabha was constantly working for the promotion of literary interests among the students. The first place in this essay writing competition went to Braham Sevak Singh of M.A. Political Science, Semester-I, second place went to Lovepreet Kaur, B.A. 5th Semester and 3rd place was won by Harpreet Singh B.Sc. Computer Science semester-I. Judgment of the writings of these students was done by Dr. Surinder Pal Mand and Prof. Kuldip Sodhi. The winning students were awarded by Principal Dr. Samra. Head of the department, Dr. Gopal Singh Butter congratulated and encouraged participants to write healthy literature in future.
