Evacuation drill & Fire Lecture/Demo for Administrative and Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall
The University Security Wing of the University in collaboration with Fire Safety Department, U.T. Chandigarh organized evacuation drill and fire lecture/demo by Amarjit Singh, Fire Officer assisted by his staff in the Basement of the Administrative Block.

Chandigarh, July 8, 2022: The University Security Wing of the University in collaboration with Fire Safety Department, U.T. Chandigarh organized evacuation drill and fire lecture/demo by Amarjit Singh, Fire Officer assisted by his staff in the Basement of the Administrative Block. On this occasion, Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examinations, P.U.; Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar, P.U. and Vikram Singh, Chief of University Security were present. At 10.00 a.m., a signal/whistle/siren of fire was blown and all the staff members come out of their seats to attend this mock drill.
A lecture was delivered by Amarjit Singh, Fire Officer, U.T. Chandigarh along with team members. They have given a demo to all the staff regarding type of fire and type of fire cylinders to be used in case of fire.
Maximum staff members operated fire cylinders by themselves and gained knowledge about how to control fire and learn procedure for operating fire extinguishers in case of fire.
Baljit Singh, SO-I, Amarjit Singh, SO-II along with security staff and all employees of the Administrative Block and Aruna Ranjit Chandra Hall gained the knowledge for future.
The Registrar desires that proper evacuation mechanism be evolved for evacuation floor-wise.
