Ludhiana, October 2, 2024: Events under Swachhata Hi Seva organised at Ramgarhia Girls College The NSS unit of Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana, carried out various activities under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva -2024' campaign from 17-09-2024 to 02-10-2024.
During the series of events, Nutrition Month was celebrated, and a lecture by Prof. Neerul Deogan was organised wherein she educated the students about the advantages of a balanced diet and the methods to promote healthier eating habits. Students also participated in Poster-Making activities based on the same theme.
Next, NSS foundation day was celebrated, where the students were enlightened about the National Service Scheme and its central mission.
On this occasion, the volunteers took the pledge to serve their country and also got registered on the My Bharat Portal. Then volunteers participated in the Poster Making activity to spread awareness about the hazards of drug abuse and its preventive measures. Following this, a cleanliness drive was organised under which the volunteers cleaned the college campus and the surroundings of the college. To spread the message of 'Swachhata Hi Seva,' the students enthusiastically took part in a rally and held placards and banners with awareness messages on Tuesday.
Ranjodh Singh, President Ramgarhia Educational Council, said that the NSS cell has been organizing many activities on and off the campus to bring awareness about the importance of Swachhata in one’s daily life.
Officiating Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur said that everyone should contribute to Swachhata, and it is the responsibility of each individual. All have to keep observing Swachhata at college, in their surroundings, and in society. She also appreciated Programme officers Dr. Harbinder Kaur, Prof. Kiran Thakur, and Prof. Heena Jand, for their efforts.
