Excise and police teams recover 12000-litre lahan
In an operation against illicit liquor on the directions of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, the excise department along with local police seized 12000-litre lahan in Sherewal and Bahadarke villages on Saturday.

Ludhiana, May 25, 2024: In an operation against illicit liquor on the directions of District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney, the excise department along with local police seized 12000-litre lahan in Sherewal and Bahadarke villages on Saturday.
Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Inderjit Singh Nagpal informed that the teams along with local Police conducted a search in Sherewal and Bahadarke villages. The search team covered nearly about 6-8 kms area alongside the Sutlej river bank and made detection of 12000 litres lahan in six plastic tarpaulins being unclaimed and destroyed outside the river.
District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney reiterated the commitment of free, fair and transparent polls in Ludhiana as elaborate arrangements were put in place to ensure peaceful environment during the polls.
