Excise dept destroys 52000 ltrs of Lahan in Ludhiana
In view of upcoming Lok Sabha-2024 elections, the state excise department along with the local police and narcotics cell conducted raid in Ladhowal area on Tuesday and destroyed around 52000 litres of Lahan found near Village Bholewal Jadid (on the banks of river Sutlej).
Ludhiana, May 21, 2024: In view of upcoming Lok Sabha-2024 elections, the state excise department along with the local police and narcotics cell conducted raid in Ladhowal area on Tuesday and destroyed around 52000 litres of Lahan found near Village Bholewal Jadid (on the banks of river Sutlej).
Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Inderjit Singh Nagpal said that the raids are being conducted on the directions of District Election Officer (DEO) Sakshi Sawhney and Deputy Commissioner (Excise), Patiala Zone.
The teams which conducted the raid consisted of Harjeet Singh, Excise Inspector along with Excise Police, Police staff Police Station Ladhowal and staff of Anti-Narcotic cell led by Excise Officer Harjot Singh.
The lahan was stored in 17 tarpaulin, 1 Iron drum, 3 Plastic drums and 2 Plastic cans. Lahan being unclaimed was destroyed by the team of officials on the spot.
