Chandigarh, January 21, 2023: In order to make students aware about the theme of India’s G-20 leadership i.e. ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and One Earth, One Family, One Future', Government Home Science College organized expert talk on "Role of G-20 in Engaging Young Minds". The rationale of the event was to acquaint students about the fundamental goals and objectives that India aim to achieve under its G-20 Presidency. Dr. Uttara Singh, Assistant Professor, was the resource person of the event. She focused on the dire need of engaging youth to find solutions for the global problems of climate change, depletion of energy resources and food crisis all around the globe.
The event got an overwhelming response from the students as well as faculty of the institute. The resource person answered the questions of the students to their satisfaction. She further encouraged students to participate wholeheartedly to counter the challenges related to healthcare infrastructure, economy, energy and food crisis faced at a global level.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, reiterated the spirit of 'Jan Bhagidari’ and strongly advocated that citizen led people’s movements in India can provide formidable solutions to the global challenges faced by the world.
