Expert talk on Role of Intellectual Property in Viksit Bharat
The Panjab University Chandigarh, organised an expert talk on Role of Intellectual Property in Viksit Bharat for the faculty, research scholars and students of Panjab University by Prof. Unnat P Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Design & Trade marks, Government of India on Thursday in the department of CIL.
Chandigarh, March 7, 2024: The Panjab University Chandigarh, organised an expert talk on Role of Intellectual Property in Viksit Bharat for the faculty, research scholars and students of Panjab University by Prof. Unnat P Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Design & Trade marks, Government of India on Thursday in the department of CIL.
The session began with a welcome address by Prof. Meena Sharma Hon. Director Central Placement Cell. She highlighted the need for such type of interactions for budding researchers. She also emphasised upon the focus of IP rights in realising the PM Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
More than100 participants attended the session. Prof. Pandit began his address by appreciating the contribution of PU in new patents, stressing on the need to look at the scientific innovations in a diversified manner with 3-dimensional approach and effects of the same.
Prof. Pandit spoke on the need of a viable solution that is relevant and affordable. He stated that new patents need to be based on elaborate research, relevant for the masses and commercially profitable to the business partners. Further he asserted the fact when the patents and innovations follow these three parameters, they make their lives to the general public of country.
He also spoke about the role of every individual in realising the commitment of a developed nation. The path from Vikassheel to Viksit Bharat would require contributions from every citizen. He also stressed upon the role of researchers in bestowing India with the honour of Vishwagurutwa, in 2047 when India celebrates 100 years of Independence.
Prof. Indu Pal Kaur moderated the interactive session, which surfaced many insightful questions around productive utilisation of technology. As part of this interactive session he emphasised upon changing the approach for assured success, relevance of royalty. The audience appreciated the fairness and transparency prof. Pandit has initiated into the system. Besides these he emphasised on relevance of royalty, National Education Policy and multidisciplinary approach for the ease of design filing. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Manu Sharma.
