Experts discuss Extension Methodologies at PAU

Ludhiana, March 16, 2015: The Department of Extension Education of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) organised a one-day seminar on “Extension Methodologies.” The retired extension specialists of the University deliberated on quality management in extension education for market led extension, chalking extension strategies for popularisation of integrated nutritional garden, and role of attitude in agricultural rural development. Besides, experts shared extension experiences which could be applied to contemporary Punjab agriculture.

The Chief Guest, Dr R.S. Tambar, former Professor of Extension Education and former Additional Director Communication, PAU dwelt on the quality management of extension services to the farmers.

Dr S.S. Gill, former Director of Extension Education, PAU explained about the operational research project on nutritional garden.

Dr T.K. Gill, ex-Professor of Extension Education talked about how to change the attitude of rural people for farm development.

Earlier, while welcoming the guests and the students, Dr R.K. Kalra, Head, Extension Education delved on rapport building. She observed that rapport can be developed through appropriate relationship of linguistic, para linguistic, non-linguistic and kinesis.

Dr G.S. Momi, former Head, Extension Education and Dr D.S. Ladhar, a farm expert emphasised on studying the field level activities by going to villages.
