Extension lecture on drug abuse under buddy programme
Jalandhar, December 6, 2021: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised an extension lecture on Drug Abuse under Buddy Programme launched by Punjab Government to curb the menace of drug abuse. The lecture was organised in order to aware the students about the ill effects of drugs as the young generation is most vulnerable to this malpractice of intoxication. Dr. Pratima Sharma Mehandru, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, a licensed psychologist from Rehabilitation Council of India was the speaker for the lecture. She talked in detail about the symptoms and habits of an addict and the ways to deal with them. She also stressed upon the fact that addiction occurs only when one weakens one’s will power. The lecture ended with a healthy discussion and a few queries of the students were also discussed eloquently. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi motivated the students to keep spreading awareness in the society about this problem of drug abuse. Dr. Madhumeet (Dean, Department of Student Welfare), Ms. Veena Deepak (Co-ordinator, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School), Ms. AnandPrabha (Incharge, KMV Collegiate Sr. Sec. School), members of Department of Student Welfare and faculty were also present on this occasion. Principal lauded the efforts of the organising committee to organise such an informative lecture.
