Jalandhar: Department of Business Management of DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology organised an Extension lecture on the topic “Tax Planning and Procedure of filing Income Tax Returns” on May11, 2021 for the students of MBA, BBA and B.Com (Hons.) under the leadership of Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar and able guidance of HOD Dr. Anil Soni.
The main objectives of the lecture to inculcate among students the practical aspects of the subject to make them fit for the industry and reducing gap between industry and Academia. CA Puneet Oberoi and CA Priyanka Verma from Puneet Oberoi & Co. are e- resource persons of extension lecture. They are well known personalities in their fields and experts in direct and Indirect taxes.
CA Puneet Oberoi discussed various methods of tax planning in very simplified ways and differentiates between tax planning, tax evasion and tax avoidance with interesting examples and video clippings. He has also elaborated with facts and figures that only a few percentage of population of India who is liable to pay taxes, are actually paying tax.
CA Priyanka Verma enlightened the students with the various types of returns and procedure on E-filling income tax return in very elaborative and easy mode. Formal Vote of thanks has been delivered by Dr. Suman Tandon, Convener of the event. Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar has appreciated the efforts of the department for organising this event. The lecture turned out to be very informative and interactive for the students.
