Extension officials get training in time and stress management at PAMETI

Ludhiana, January 27, 2015: To help the extension staff to manage time more effectively and reduce stress, a five-day training on “Time and Stress Management” was organised at the Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). A total of 31 extension officials from agriculture and allied departments participated in the programme.
Dr H. S. Dhaliwal, Director, PAMETI said that extension work requires lot of dedication and commitment. He stressed on maintaining a balance between work and personal life. He also emphasised on prioritising the activities and managing the work in time.
Resource persons from various departments of PAU interacted with the participants. Dr J.S. Bhalla, Professor of Extension Education discussed the role of humour in managing stress whereas Dr Sarabjeet Singh, Associate Professor of Agricultural Journalism delivered a talk on attitude modification and how happiness can be created in the work environment. Ms Gulneet Chahal, a management consultant delved on anger management and power of sub-conscious mind to help the participants manage stress in work and personal life. Dr Sushma Jaswal and Dr I J S Jaswal, Professors (Retd.) from PAU discussed the role of family in stress management. Participants enthusiastically took part in the game of Broken Squares that was coordinated by PAMETI faculty.
