Exuberance Galore: PCM S.D. College for Women 49th Fete Sets Stage Alight

Jalandhar, February 8, 2024: The 49th College Fete 2024 was organized at PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar under the effective leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar. 

Gurjot Kaur, Senior Executive, Ajit newspaper was the chief guest of the day who gratified us with her magnificent persona. Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, Chandra Mohini Markanda, T.N. Lama, D.K. Joshi, Parmod Chopra were the members of the managing committee who graced the event.

The event began with floral welcome and lighting of the ceremonious lamp. Department of Music initiated the event with a 'bhajan'. Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar extended a cordial welcome to our reverent guests. The chief guest addressed the audience with her vivacious speech. She held that women should be empowered and confident and live a life vested in dignity and moral values and teachers ought to serve as role models for their students.

The guests reveled in the splendid glory of the cultural bonanza prepared by the students of the Department of Dance in the form of a ‘Sufi Kathak’. She declared the fete open and then took a round of delicious Food Stalls, Fun games and Grooming Station. Students of Department of Fashion Designing and Cosmetology laid up their own stalls of handmade and jewellery items under ‘Earn While You Learn’ scheme. A seperate stall was also put up by Punjab National Bank, Ladowali Road Branch.

The main attraction of the evening session was the Raffle Draw and Vikas Sondhi, Chairman, St George’s Convent School, Jalandhar. Vinod Dada, Rishabh Sondhi, Director, St.George’s Convent School and Renu, Principal, St. George’s Convent School too graced this session. Surinder Saini, Secretary, Jalandhar Welfare Society also accompanied them. Winners were announced and prizes were given to them. 

Manoj Kumar Solanki, Senior Manager, PNB Band, Ladowali Road, Jalandhar and Capital Finance Small Bank were the sponsors of the raffle draw. Mamta Behl, Principal, Seth Hukan Chand School, New Prem Nagar branch and Anjana, Principal, Sada Sukh Chopra School also witnessed the event.

The guests and the students enjoyed to their hearts’ content by grooving to the rhythms and beats of the songs. President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice-President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof. Dr. Pooja Prashar congratulated the winners.
