Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) Conclave organised in Ludhiana today
Today marked a momentous occasion as the STREE (Social and Transformative Rural Economic Enterprise) initiative, supported by HDFC Parivartan and implemented by GT Bharat LLP, orchestrated the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) Conclave at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan in Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, November 24, 2023: Today marked a momentous occasion as the STREE (Social and Transformative Rural Economic Enterprise) initiative, supported by HDFC Parivartan and implemented by GT Bharat LLP, orchestrated the Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) Conclave at Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan in Ludhiana.
Notable personalities, including D.P.S Kharbanda, Director of Industries and Commerce, Punjab, Dr. Narinder Pal Kalsi, Deputy Director Horticulture, Ludhiana, Harmail Singh Sidhu, State Head IFFCO, Smt. Harmeet Kaur, Vice President Cluster Head, HDFC Bank, Ludhiana, marked their valuable presence and contributed to the discourse on agricultural advancements.
Sessions on the Business Plan & Way Forward, led by V. Padmanand and Mr. Manpreet Singh from Grant Thornton Bharat, engaged 150 FPC members. The FPO board of directors highlighted significant milestones achieved, including 16 FPCs with 6500 shareholding women farmers, a total turnover of INR 1.72 Cr, and income increase of around 40% through multiple interventions of animal husbandry, adoption of maize silage, crop diversification, and custom hiring centers.
The FPO Conclave, serving as a premier platform for agricultural stakeholders, focused on collaboration, idea exchange, and shaping the future of farming in India, with a special emphasis on promoting Farmer Producer Organizations. Inaugural and special addresses provided a comprehensive overview of achievements, success stories, and outlined the trajectory for future progress.
