SHOPS & WORKSHOPS DEALING IN SPARE PARTS & REPAIR RELATED TO FARM MACHINERY ALLOWED TO OPEN
Ludhiana: In view of curfew/lockdown due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) in the district, the District Administration today allowed the farmers and farm labour for harvesting and sowing of their crops. An order in this regard was issued by District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, here today.
While providing information, Mr Agrawal informed that these orders have been passed keeping in mind the harvesting of crops in the coming days, followed by sowing of other crops. He informed that during the harvesting season, the combine harvesters would be allowed to operate only from 9 am to 7 pm, the shops selling spare parts of farm machinery as well as workshops dealing in farm machinery would be allowed to open only for three hours (5 am to 8 am). He said that the repair of the farm machinery would be carried out only inside the workshop compound.
Mr Agrawal have directed the Chief Agriculture Officer to ensure that all directions/guidelines issued by the government for checking the spread of COVID 19, should be complied with by the farmers, farm labour, combine owners and at the spare part shops. He said that all persons should maintain a distance of atleast 1.5-2 metres between each other, should wear a mask and gloves during work. He said that it is necessary that the machinery is sanitised from time to time. He also directed that not more than 10 persons should gather at one place at any given time.
