Farmers protest at Jantar Mantar: Farmers delayed Punjab Mail departure for 2 hrs from Ferozepur
The Punjab Mail train was delayed for 2 hours on August 21 from its normal schedule time of 9.40 pm, due to boarding of farmers in the reserved compartments to participate in the Mahapanchayat protest at Jantar Mantar call by the Sayunkt Kisan Morcha.

Ferozepur, August 22, 2022: The Punjab Mail train was delayed for 2 hours on August 21 from its normal schedule time of 9.40 pm, due to boarding of farmers in the reserved compartments to participate in the Mahapanchayat protest at Jantar Mantar call by the Sayunkt Kisan Morcha.
The farmers from Ferozepur had gathered at the railway station to board the Punjab Mail to participate in the protest at Jantar Mantar and entered the reserved compartments. Later on with the intervention of RPF, local police, the train departed at 11.40 pm from Ferozepur by shifting the farmers from the reserved AC compartments to the general compartment, sources said.
Earlier, the Kisan Mazdoor Sangarsh Committee (KMSC) Punjab had announced to support the protest at Jantar Mantar announced by the Kisan Mazdoor Sangarsh Committee Punjab at Jantar Mantar at Delhi by the farmers on a call from Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) - an umbrella body of farmers – comprising a group of around 40 farm organizations., had announced the beginning of its 75-hour sit-in in Lakhimpur Kheri of Uttar Pradesh from August 18 to press for their pending demands.
The farmer outfits had primarily demanded the proper implementation of minimum support price (MSP) for crops.
