Ludhiana, November 4, 2019: Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh held a meeting with Union Culture & Tourism Minister Mr Prahlad Singh Patel and has demanded that Fatehgarh Sahib should be developed as a religious tourism hub.

Besides, he also demanded that Fatehgarh Sahib, Machhiwara Sahib and Raikot should be linked to each other through both road as well as rail network.

After the meeting with the Union Minister at Delhi, Dr Amar Singh informed that he not only demanded that Fatehgarh Sahib be developed as a religious tourism hub, besides he also briefed him about the religious importance of Machhiwara Sahib and Raikot towns of district Ludhiana.

He told Union Minister Mr Prahlad Singh Patel that younger Sahibzada’s of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh, were bricked alive by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and Nawab Wazir Khan, after they refused to leave Sikh religion. Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji received this news when he was at the historical town of Raikot (Gurudwara Tahliana Sahib), where Guru Ji vowed to take on the Mughals. Dr Amar Singh said that crores of people visit this place each year and there is a need to develop best infrastructure there.

Dr Amar Singh demanded from the Union Minister that keeping in mind the historical and religious importance of these towns, they should be interconnected through both road and rail network. He informed that Union Minister Mr Prahlad Singh Patel assured him that this matter would be taken up seriously and further course of action would be taken after getting reports from the concerned departments.
