Chandigarh: Punjab State Holi Bumper-2020 has filled colors in the life of Fazilka resident Sarwan Singh. The draw of the Holi Bumper was held at Ludhiana and one of the 1st two prizes (Rs 1.50-1.50 crore each) had gone to ticket No. A-664223, which was purchased by Sarwan Singh.
Sarwan Singh, serving as a Chief Draftsman in Water Supply and Sanitation Department, said that he has been buying the lottery ticket for last 17 years and this time his lucky number '23' has turned him crorepati. Notably, he will retire from government service on March 31 this year.
After submitting the documents to lottery department officials here for the encashment of prize, Sarwan Singh said that the number 23 has always been lucky for him, adding that he had got promotion in government service on August 23, 2003 and now the last two digits of the first prize winning ticket are 23. Interestingly, if all the numbers of ticket to be counted, the total will be 23, he uttered.
Feeling extremely happy, Sarwan Singh said that the hefty prize money will help him to get settled his two sons in life. He also expressed willingness to do social welfare works with the prize money. Meanwhile, lotteries department officials have assured Sarwan Singh to release the prize money at the earliest. /(March 6, 2020)
