Varun Duggal came all guns blazing in the second innings
Ferozepur: Ferozepur proved too tough to handle for the neighbours Fazilka, whom they beat by 6 wickets at Poly- technic Cricket Stadium here in a two- day match in the ongoing PCA (Punjab Cricket Association) sponsored Inter- District Katoch Shield Senior Cricket Tournament. With this third back to back win, Ferozepur secured their berth in the final.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Fazilka bundled out on 139 on a lively wicket on the newly constructed picturesque stadium. Captain Sukhwinder Singh took 5 scalps, whereas Varun Duggal chipped in 3 wickets to tighten the noose on the visitors. The hosts Ferozepur, in response, despite the early hiccups, managed to secure a first innings lead of 28 runs as Roopam Monga 43 and Karan Goriya 32 steadied the innings. Ferozepur was all out on 167.
